A Philadelphia native, Dr. Robert Ziets graduated Northwestern University.  At George Washington University School of Medicine, among the top students in his class, he received his medical degree “with Distinction” and numerous other academic honors, including the DeWitt Surgical Specialties Award, and election to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Ziets completed both his surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency training at New York University Medical Center and a fellowship in hand and micro-vascular surgery at University of California San Diego Medical Center.  He additionally obtained extensive sub-specialty training and clinical expertise in arthroscopic hip, knee, shoulder and wrist surgery, shoulder reconstruction and vascular tumor surgery.

With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ziets is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.  He is an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the orthopaedic consultant for the Vascular and Birthmark Institute of New York.  Dr. Ziets has authored numerous publications and is a member of the editorial board of the journal Orthopedics.
